At Alki Bike and Board we hand file and bevel equipment edges. We use the best local wax from One Ball Jay. Our wax is allowed to set 45 minutes to 1 hour before scraping to allow time for the wax to penetrate the p-tex base. After we scrape we buff the base with diagonal strokes (the same direction as downhill travel) to provide the best flow  over any snow surface. This procedure will perform better and last longer than any machine tune and wax that takes one quick pass. We can custom pour your wax using high fluoro composition.
